» Decorating Tips for your East Lansing Apartment

It’s that time of year again in East Lansing. New classes, new roommates, and new apartments. Taking on the task of decorating for the first time can seem daunting, but if you follow some basic design guidelines you’ll have a great looking apartment in no time! A cool place to consider taking a road trip to is Ikea, as they have furniture that is less expensive and more modern than traditional stores. The closest one to East Lansing is located at 41640 Ford Road, Canton, MI 48187.
Here are some ways to really make your space your own:
- -Don’t be afraid to use color!
- -Try to place chairs in groups in order to encourage socializing when you have guests.
- -Decide on a color palette ahead of time. One way to do this is to choose a favorite piece of artwork and design your space around that.
- -Keep furniture to a minimum in small spaces.
- -Most of all have fun, and think outside the box!
My roommate and I just got finished decorating our apartment for this school year, and we were surprised how great we made it look with how little we spent.
